If the surface area always is 216.0 square inches of a rectangular box, Why does the volume of the box change as the base (x) and height (h) change.
x h SA V
4.0 11.5 216.0 184.0
4.5 9.8 216.0 197.4
5.0 8.3 216.0 207.5
5.5 7.1 216.0 213.9

The volume changes because you're changing the shape of the box. I mean, think about it: You have a fixed amount of cardboard. You can make a cube (lots of volume) or a "box" with no sides, just a top and a bottom (zero volume).
