I Need help simplifing

Alright, I'm in geometry and we have to solve these stupid equations... HELP!!!!! Ok, the equation is 2a+4(7+5a) I need to simplify it but I need it in step-by-step stuff... can someone help me please???

Are you solving an equation, of which "2a + 4(7 + 5a)" is a part, or are you simplifying an expression? In either case, how far have you gotten? (You've multiplied the 4 through the parentheses, and... then what?)
