I dont understand at all.That's not hard to imagine, since you have provided no problem statement at all. Let's suppose we're supposed to factor it.
6ab^2 + 12ab - 12b^2c
I see lots of '6's
6(ab^2 + 2ab - 2b^2c)
Only the first to have an 'a'.
Everything has a 'b'
6b(ab + 2a - 2bc)
That's about it.
