Ziggy's yogurt blends yogurt that is 3% fat with no fat yogurt to get a 1% low-fat yogurt blend. How many pounds of regular yogurt and how many pounds of no fat yogurt need to be mixed to obtain 60 pounds of low fat yogurt

Use the standard "mixture" set-up:

. . . . .pounds yogurt:
. . . . .3%: x
. . . . .0%: 60 - x
. . . . .1%: 60

. . . . .percent fat:
. . . . .3%: 0.03
. . . . .0%: ??
. . . . .1%: ??

. . . . .pounds fat:
. . . . .3%: 0.03(x)
. . . . .0%: ??
. . . . .1%: ??

Complete the table.

Add the input amounts of fat; set equal to the output amount. Solve for the variable.

Which part don't you "get"? How much have you done in following the example and instructions? Where are you stuck?

In the future, please post your own questions as new threads, not as "hijacks" of other students' threads. But for now, please reply showing all of your work, starting with how you followed the model in completing the table.

Thank you.

Eliz.
