What is that?. I assume you want to solve for x; i.e., find the roots?.

\(\displaystyle \L\\2x^{3}+5x^{2}-8x-20=0\)

\(\displaystyle \L\\2x^{3}-8x+5x^{2}-20\)

\(\displaystyle \L\\2x(x^{2}-4)+5(x^{2}-4)\)
