f(x) = 2^x

Write the equation of f(x) translated 5 units to thew right and flipped throuh the y-axis.

Lost here too......(crying in frustration)

What rules have you been given for translations? What have you tried? How far have you gotten?

Please be specific, so we can see where you're needing assistance. Thank you.

I have no idea how to do this.
Since "translations" haven't been covered in your class or in your book, and since we cannot replicate those missing classroom lessons, please study some online lessons instead:

. . . . .Google results for "function transformations translations"

Once you have studied some lessons and have learned the basic terms and techniques, please attempt the exercise. If you get stuck, please reply with your work and reasoning. Thank you.

OK I studied some

given the exponential function : f(x) = 2^x
then write the equation of f(x) translated 5 units to the right and flipped through the y-axis.

I get f(x)= -(2^x - 5)

Is that correct?

Close.....

f(x) = -2^(x - 5)
