ok in this i have a problem in my book..which i like for you to help me out with now if you can i will so like that .

ok the top of the obtuse if Mdegrees
the bottom point is 25degrees
and the middle is 125degrees
the hypotenuse is 18
and the opposite side is y
and the ajacent side is x

now i have to find
x
y
Mdegrees

i did
125degrees + 25degrees + Mdegrees = 180
150dg + Mdg = 180
180 - 150 = 30
Mdg = 30dg
right
now how to find y and x?

Have you tried the law of sines?

If not I think that on the homepage it explains it. :D

ONLY a right triangle (one angle = 90 degrees) has an HYPOTENUSE.
So WHICH side equals 18?
If you need help, please be CLEARER.

18 equals as i wrote the hypotenuse...........
and x and y are the legs....
and M is the degrees which is on the top of the triangle which i found ..is my answer right or wrong !!!

One more time: THERE IS NO HYPOTENUSE IN YOUR TRIANGLE :shock:

answered

ok i did
18/sin(125) = x/sin(30)
(0.5)(18) = sin125x
9 = sin125x
9 / sin125 = 10.986713
x = 10.0 or is it 11

ok now
18/sin125 = y/sin25
(18)(sin25) = (y)(sin125)
7.607128711 = y sin125
7.607128711 / sin125
y = 9.286589424
y = 9.3

y = 9.3 or maybe 10
x = 11
mdegrees = 30
