Tschirnhausen transformations

I search the whole net for more information about Tschirnhausen transformations. I would like to see the calculation that Jerrard did : setting the first three coefficients of the quintic equation to zero by a quartic Tschirnhausen transformation. I don't see how this is possible.
Is there anybody that knows more about it ?

There are less than a thousand references online to these transformations, and barely a hundred pages which also include Jerrard and quintics. :shock:

You may have to resort to the old-fashioned paper-pulp method (i.e., books in a library). :wink:
