A spring mass has free motion without damping. Suppose the system has the property that the spring constant is 4 times the mass "m" and that at time "t=0," the mass is pulled down 1ft and released.

A) Write the differential equation describing the motion together with the initial conditions. Neglecting air resistance.

B) Find the position of the mass at any time t > 0.

C) If the above system were immersed with damping constant equal to 3 times its mass, what would the differential eqaution describing the motion be?

What are your thoughts? What have you tried? How far did you get? Where are you stuck?

Please be specific. Thank you! :D
