I am confused by this problem. When I check my answer it doesnt come out correctly. What am I doing wrong?
3.6x +6 = -2 + 2x
3.6x +6 -6 + -2 -6 +2x
3.6x=4 +2x
3.6x-2x=4
1.6x=4

x = 4/1.6

x= .25

Maybe it's a no solution problem??

3.6x +6 = -2 + 2x
3.6x +6 -6 = -2 -6 +2x
3.6x=4 +2x <<<error here. How did you get +4???
3.6x-2x=4
1.6x=4

made this mistake:

-2 + 6 instead of -2 - 6 or -2 + -6

Thanks for your help! The answer checked out.

x = 4/1.6

x= .25 <<< Assuming the step before was correct (i.e. assuming 1.6 x = 4 is correct) - this step is wrong - it would have been x = 2.5

Maybe it's a no solution problem??
