Joe Montana & Jon Elway were pro football quarterbacks. Montana completed 33409 passes in his career. This is 7/11 of the passes he threw. It is also about 3/4 the number that Elway completed. Elway completed about 4/7 of the passes he threw. Who threw more passes? About how many more?

Can't figure out . What may be the formula for figuring out
Thanks

There's your problem, right there. Why do you think there is a formula?

Given: Montana completed 33409 passes in his career.

Given: This is 7/11 of the passes he threw.

Thinking: Total Montana Passes * (7/11) = 33409 ==> Total Montana Passes = 33409*(11/7) = ???

Given: It is also about 3/4 the number that Elway completed.

Thinking: Total Elway Completed * (3/4) = 33409 ==? Total Elway Completions = 33409*(4/3)

Given: Elway completed about 4/7 of the passes he threw.

Thinking: Total Elway Passes * (4/7) = Total Elway Completions

Now, there's is some algebra in your future.
