What starting points do I use for the transformation then?
Do I have the function right?
This is what I have thus far ...?...
I'm lost....... HELP!
Using the method of transformations I got the following equation:
p(t) = 2^t
p(t) = 100 x 2^t
p(2) = 100 x 2^2t
100 being the Distortion on Y
2 being the Base
So I leave the (8?/3) alone then?
And set the graph to points of ?/3, 2?/3, 3?/3, 4?/3, 5?/3, etc...
How does the (t) effect the (8?/3) ?
Usually there is an addition or subtraction that effect...
Using the method of transformations, I have to graph the following function p(t), and label the amplitude & period.
p(t) = 25 sin [ (8?/3) t ] + 115
I'm assuming I use p(t) = A sin (?t + ?) + d...
So I got some points on the graph starting at the 0 for time and 100 for infection.
(0,100) (0.5,200) (1,400) (1.5,800)
Because the infection doubles every half an hour
How am I to use the...
E.coli is a bacterium that reproduces by dividing. Each bacterium splits into two parts every half hour.
This is an example of exponential growth and can be modeled as follows:
Assuming that none...
Consider the rhythm of your heartbeat. A person’s blood pressure is a measure of the pressure exerted on the walls of the arteries by the blood as it is propelled by the rhythmic contractions of the...
GOOD! DONE! Huge thanks to everyone that helped - I have studying to do, I'm pretty sure they won't give me 11 hours on the exam ... lol
:D
This is where I am at
My final equation has to be in the format: a(x-h)^2 + k
I was told the final equation would be y = - (x/4)^2 + 4 which would mean a = 1/4 yes?
Is there a way I can check my work, assuming the...
This is what I have come up with
I'm feeling slightly less crazy
Am I on the right track?
I thought "a" would = -1/4 .... not -1/12
I really appreciate everyone's help - this site is a godsent!...
OMG - I don't understand why I can't get this - I am wasting hours and getting no where
How do you figure out what anything is with 4 = a(4-0)^2 + k ?
How do I find a ?
I understand the...
How do you get that you want to make y = 4 and x = 4 ?
Does k = 32 ?
A wildlife corridor must be designed to arch over a major highway. The arch over the highway is to be constructed in the shape of a parabola. The highway is 8m wide and will be centered under the...
That is exactly what my graph looked like - so that's a good sign!
I tried using transformations to get a function out of it:
Y = x^2 (-2, 4) ( 0, 0) ( 2, 4)
Y1 = -1(x^2) ...
We have just started this chapter, and I was grouped with 2 others that didn't want to work 'together', so the questions were divided up ... this is mine ... I have attempted it, and done the initial...
