3x-4y=2

what do I have to do to find the slope?
please explain.

I'm trying to isolate the x but I don't think it's working out to well

place it in the standard form of y= mx + c
where m is the slope.

So rearrange what you have....

c is a constant or sometimes called the y intercept value. The equation also can appear as y = mx + b (where b and c are the same variable)

6/4=m right?

what about that constant variable you mentioned? Will that effect the problem?

3x-4y=2

3x-2 = 4y

(3/4)x -(2/4) = y

y= (3/4)x -(1/2)

and m= (3/4)

does this make sense now?

how can you just switch those two numbers?

for instanse

2x-7y=10

would 2x-10=7y

and if so what lets you just switch the 7y and the 10?

As simple as this, bulby:

9 - 2 = 7
9 - 7 = 2

or

10 + 5 = 15
10 = 15 - 5

You can switch ANY term from one side of equal sign to the other by CHANGING it's sign.
