can i get help with my alg1 hw on equations please

I'll step through #1 for you. OK?. See if you can finish the rest.

There are simple rules to follow, then these things are easy.

#1. \(\displaystyle 2x-5+4x=3x+10\)

Notice the like terms?. That is, add up all the terms with x's, all the integers, etc.

\(\displaystyle 2x+4x=6x\). See?.

So you have \(\displaystyle 6x-5=3x+10\)

Now, get the x's on one side and the integers on the other.

Subtract 3x from both sides:

\(\displaystyle 3x-5=10\)

Add 5 to both sides:

\(\displaystyle 3x=15\)

Now, just divide both sides by 3:

\(\displaystyle x=5\)

See how that's done?.

Please note that this is not a chat-room environment with paid staffers waiting on-hand to give instant replies. (You posted the above three minutes after your original post.) The tutors are volunteers, some of them fellow students, who surf by and help out when they have the time. Please be prepared to wait hours, if not days, for an online reply.

Thank you for your understanding.

P.S. When you post, you may find it helpful to tick the "Notify me when a reply is posted" box, so you don't have to wait or check back for replies; just wait for the e-mail notice to land in your Inbox. :D

and to help some more...
2(x-3)+10=-3(x+1)

2x - 6 + 10 = -3x - 3

2x +3x = -3 +6 -10

....and keep going.
