1.where does 3x+5y=15 intersect the x axis?
a.(0,5)
b.(5,0) <
c.(0,3)
d.(3,0)
Nope. How about putting into the form y = mx + b.

2.What is the equation of the line slope -2 that passes through (3,1)
a.y-1=-2(x-3)
b.y-3=-2(x-1)
c.y+1=-2(x+3) <
d.y+3=-2(x+1)
Nope. The slope-point equation is y - y1 = m(x - x1).

3.what is the y - intercept of the line passing through (18,-4) with a slope of -1/2 = y=m x+ b y=b
a.-5
b.-4 <
c.5
d.18
Nope. As per (2.) and (3.).
5.Which of the following is the solution to the system (2x-4y=3 (-3x+6y=9
a.(1,2)
b.(1/2,-1/2) <
c. all points on the line 2x-4y=3
d. there is no solution
Does your solution satisfy both equations?

7.Which of the following is the equation of the line passing through (-12,5) and (4,-7)
a.y+7=-3/4(x-4)
b.y-7=-4/3(x-4)
c.y+5=4/3(x+12)
d.y+5=-4/3(x-12) <
Nope. Slope = (y1 - y2)/(x1 - x2) (in any order); and, again, review the slope-point equation.

8.which is a point on the line whose equation is y+5=2/3(x-7)
a.(-7,5) <
b.(-5,7)
c.(5,-7)
d.(7,-5)
Does (-7, 5) satisfy the equation?

9.What is the value of xy - 2x+3y=22
x+2y=4
edited: (what is the value of xy, where (x,y) is the solution to the two equations: 2x+3y=22 and x+2y=4)
a.-8
b.-16
c.-24 <
d.-32
Nothing seems to fit. Typo in the equations?

10. What is the y cordinate of the intersection of the graphs of zx-3y=-1 and zx+y=67
a.17
b.19 <
c.21
d.23
Nope. Set each equation to zero (alternatively, solve both for zx), then set the equations equal and solve for y.

11.Which of the following points lies on the line y=8x-3
a.(2,13)
b.(13,2)
c.(-2,13)
d.(13,-2) <
Does plugging x=13 into the right-hand side of the equation give y=2?

13.foil - (x^3 + 2t) (3t^2 - s) (no multiple choice)
4x^4t^2 + 6t^2 - 4x^3s - 2st
That's my best effort at editing.
The last two terms are good; the first two are a little off. But you showed some work -- that's a start.
Moral of the story: either cover up all the choices, or ask your teacher for a non-multichoice practise test, so to grasp that there is no escape from not knowing how to do something, except doing the hard yards and learning it.

1. yes
2. No. Put x=3,y=1 in it. 2=-12
3. No. -4=(-1/2)*18+b
5. No. That doesn't work for -3x+6y=9
7. No. Put x=-12, y=5 in it.
8. No. put x=-7, y=5 in it. 10=-28/3
9. I don't understand. Should be x=?, y=?
10. No. (3y-1)+y=67
11. No. I assume you mean 8x+(-3)
13 There is no "s" in it.

thnx, i took ur advice and i think i got them now put please correct me if im wrong;

1.d
2.b
3.c
5.c
7.a
8.d
10.c
11.a
13. 12x^3+^2+y+^3s-2st

Ok....let's try some of these again:

1.where does 3x+5y=15 intersect the x axis?
a.(0,5)
b.(5,0) <
c.(0,3)
d.(3,0)
You have this one correct....with apologies to Unco, to find the x-intercept, substitute 0 for y.

2.What is the equation of the line slope -2 that passes through (3,1)
a.y-1=-2(x-3)
b.y-3=-2(x-1)
c.y+1=-2(x+3) <
d.y+3=-2(x+1)

Use the point-slope form for the equation of the line with slope "m" that passes through the point (x1, y1)
y - y1 = m(x - x1

If you arrived at answer choice b the second time around, then you mixed up x1 and y1)

3.what is the y - intercept of the line passing through (18,-4) with a slope of -1/2 = y=m x+ b y=b
a.-5
b.-4 <
c.5
d.18
Your new answer of c is correct.

5.Which of the following is the solution to the system (2x-4y=3 (-3x+6y=9
a.(1,2)
b.(1/2,-1/2) <
c. all points on the line 2x-4y=3
d. there is no solution

Multiply the first equation by 3:
6x - 12y = 9
Multiply the second equation by 2:
-6x + 12y = 18
Now, add the new versions of the equations together. What do you observe about the result?
I

7.Which of the following is the equation of the line passing through (-12,5) and (4,-7)
a.y+7=-3/4(x-4)
b.y-7=-4/3(x-4)
c.y+5=4/3(x+12)
d.y+5=-4/3(x-12) <
You've got this one right, now, with your choice of (a)

8.which is a point on the line whose equation is y+5=2/3(x-7)
a.(-7,5) <
b.(-5,7)
c.(5,-7)
d.(7,-5)

You've got this one right now, too.

9.What is the value of xy-2x+3y=22
x+2y=4
a.-8
b.-16
c.-24 <
d.-32
I guess I don't understand this question.....

10. What is the y cordinate of the intersection of the graphs of zx-3y=-1 and zx+y=67
a.17
b.19 <
c.21
d.23

Multiply both sides of the first equation by -1:
-zx + 3y = 1
Now, add this to the second equation:
zx + y = 67
---------------
4y = 68
Solve for y....you do not get 21.

11.Which of the following points lies on the line y=8+-3
a.(2,13)
b.(13,2)
c.(-2,13)
d.(13,-2) <
If your equation is
y = 8x + (-3)
then choice (a) is correct.

13.foil - (4^3+2t) (3+^2-5) (no multiple choice)
4x^4t^2+6+^2-4x^3s-2st
I have no opinion on this one....not sure what the question is supposed to be so cannot evaluate your answer.

You have this one correct....with apologies to Unco, to find the x-intercept, substitute 0 for y.
No need to apologise. The ongoing burden of reading "y" for "x" is mine to overcome.
