if 18 is added to the sum of three consecutive integersss, the result is 168. what are the integers?
could someone show me step by step how to do this? thanks

Okay, letting x be first number, then 18+x+(x+1)+(x+2) = 168.
So, this gives you 18+3x+3 = 168, or subtracting 18+3 from both sides, 3x = 147.
Divide 3 from both sides gives you x = 49.
SO, the three numbers are 49,50, and 51.
