f(x) = x g(x) = 3x-1
--- + 12

Find f[(g(x)]

Can someone walk me through this?

also, at what point on a graph of f(x) =6x^2 + 4x - 9 is the slope of the tangent line -2.

I need step by step please.[/code]

I'm guessing your functions are ...
f(x) = (x/8) + 12 and g(x) = 3x - 1

what's to walk through?

f[g(x)] = f(3x-1) = (3x-1)/8 + 12

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

for the second question, find the derivative of f(x) and set f'(x) equal to -2, then solve for x ... the point on the curve will be (x, f(x))
