A piece of wrapping paper has a length that is 12 cm longer than 5 times its width. If the perimeter is 168 cm, what is the length and the width?
Write the equation then solve it.

:(

Let the width be x.

The length is 5 times plus 12 cm longer than the width.

length=5x+12
width=x
perimeter=168

You know what perimeter is?. The entire length around the rectangle...right?.

Can you set up your equation(set it equal to 168) and solve for x?.
