can anybody helpme factor down the quadractic eqaution of:

42x^2-9x-15=0

i have to solve for both x's

Some similar examples were done for you. Where are you stuck?

i jsut don't understand how people are getting these answers. on this equation, is this how i do it?:

42x^2-9x-15=0

do i find the greatest common factor and go from there?

(14x-5)(2x+3)

You don't seem to be grasping the concept. Perhaps you need more help than can be provided here.

When you have been provided with solutions, every step has been shown. If you are still stuck, then you need either to study those worked solutions (since just copying the answers won't help you learn), or else you need to study some generalized lessons to re-learn the basic concepts.
