The graph of y = f (x) is shown on the left. Determine an equation of the function graphed
on the right.

I think the answer is D but according to the answer key it's C.
why move down 5 instead of 4??

Re: graphing problem

The slope of the line in the translated graph is 2. THe slope in the original graph is 1. So there is a translation of 5 but the slope has changed too. The graph has been translated through the point (1,-5).

I think the answer is D but according to the answer key it's C. <<< Where are these answers (A, B, C, D, etc.)?

Hi I know this is an old post, but I never did understand it. And now I'm reviewing for the exams so I need to know. I've also found a way to get the whole question in a much more readable format so that you guys can see.

I think that I'm just missing something. If someone could point me to a good place, which explains the principles behind this question that would be great.

Thanks a lot,
