10-foot plank is used to brace a basement wall during construction of a home. The plank is nailed to the wall 6 feet above the floor. The slope of the plank is _____?

Now, would I use the number 10 and the number 6 as the coordinates or points for x and y? Otherwise I don't understand how to get the slope from a word problem.

Code:
   |A
   |\
   | \
6  |   \
   |    \
B  |______\C

AC = 10 Plank

AB = 6

BC = ??? (recall pythagorus)

\(\displaystyle Slope \, = \, \frac{Rise}{Run} = \frac{??}{??}\)
