Never had an ellipse with a number in the numerator. The book doesn't talk about it either.


x²+2y²=9

x²/9 + 2y²/9 = 1

?????

x²/9 +y²/ (9/2)=1

so the vertices are (3,0) (-3,0)

Endpoints of the minor axis are ********3/ square root of 2*****

So the endpoints are (0,2.1216) (0,-2.1216) ?????
 


I see nothing wrong with your work thus far, except that 3/sqrt(2) evaluates to 2.1213 (rounded to four places). 8-)
