There are 140 students, how many different 3 person combinations are possible? You cannot use any combination twice, even switched around.

Hello, EmmaBoBemma!

There are 140 students.
How many different 3-person committees are possible?

This is a straight-forward Combination problem.

There are: .\(\displaystyle _{140}C_3 \:=\:\dfrac{140!}{3!\,137!} \:=\:447,\!580\text{ three-person committees.}\)
