(x.y)^2 (x^1/2 . y ^1/3) + (x^7/2 . y^5/2)
______________________________________

(x^2 . y^8/3)^1/2

Is it

y.x^3/2 .(1 + x.y^1/6)

How did you achieve that result and why do you doubt it? What part of your process was deliberately wrong?

I came to that answer by simplifing stage by stage but didnt feel the need to write the whole process on the forum. I dont think it is wrong, I would just like someone to work it through for me to see if they got the same answer.

Is it right or wrong?

... but didnt feel the need to write the whole process on the forum.

There's your problem, right there. Please feel the need in the future. We're just not here to reproduce your work or to do your homework. We're here to ehlp you learn and this is most likely to be accomplished through you showing your work. Getting all your work in the forum will also caluse to to face it - which may increase your confidence. In addition, you will get better at writing it.

Welcome. Let's do some more.

Denis, that is fantastic advice, and quick to do. I've stuggled with indices sometimes but never thought to put numbers in to it. I'll do that, as a way to check.

Cheers
