Identify any vertical, horizontal, or slant asymptotes
b) f(x)=x³-4x²-6 / 2x²-2
b) Vertical: Take the denominator and simplify
2x^(2)-2 ---> 2x^(2)-2=0 ----> 2x^(2)=2 ---> x^(2)=1 ----> x=+/-1 (is this correct or should it be +/- square root of 1?)
The exponent 3>2 so there are no horizontal asymptotes
oblique is= x/2-2 ???? How do I get oblique?
