Last time we saw Rose, she was cutting hair. She's now moved on to a new cutting-edge venture.

Rose would add zing, for her audience, dressing Brazilian Dalbergias (8,6)

Hint: one 'e' in total

PS: This cryptic inspired by Scrabble-game word; ranchmate burned me double!

EDIT: Too many SLOPPY typos! (Now fixed.) At this point, please feel free to ignore the entire thread.

Another hint. I anticipate that Denis would rewrite my cryptic; something like:

Dressing trees loudly adds zing! (6)

Hey, that's a good one, too. (Are you a stogie connoisseur?)

This raises a legal question: Is it permissible to insert stuff between homophone fodder and homophone indicator?

"Rose would add zing for her audience"

As I botched the presentation (of both versions -- lol), I'm posting the solution for each. Let the wet-noodle flinging begin!

Rose would add zing, for her audience, dressing Brazilian Dalbergias (8,6)

"Rose would add zing," = homophone fodder

"for her audience," = homophone indicator

"dressing Brazilian Dalbergias" = direct

ROSEWOOD ADZING

Dressing trees loudly adds zing! (6)

"Dressing trees" = direct

"loudly" = homophone indicator

"adds zing!" = homophone fodder

ADZING

(Sorry for the earlier flustercluck)
