Venus has been moving between the earth and sun this month (a few degrees north of the sun). Venus was as brilliant as it can be (magnitude -4.9) around mid-month, but it's still a very bright object in the pre-dawn southeastern sky. This cell image was taken today 0632 hours (AZ time).

This cell image was taken about an hour earlier, before any hint of sunrise. It's not zoomed (click for larger view).

It's interesting, to zoom in as far as possible on Venus, to imagine the light and dark sides of that planet.
