I would like to construct a circle, tangent to two circles and passing through a point.
The two circles have the same radius and the point is outside both circles.

Any help out there?

Your problem description may need further definition. For example, you don't say if your original two circles are overlapping. You also don't mention if there are other constraints, such as the new circle must lie outside the original two circles (or if one or both of the original circles can be inside your new circle).

But to give you one possible start/approach, draw a line segment between the centers of your two original circles. Next draw the perpendicular bisector of that segment.

Points along the perpendicular bisector will be equidistant from both circles. Your new circle could have its center along this line. Now you still have to figure out how to get the new circle to include the external point. Any ideas?

Hope that helps get you started.
