Hello
Have a basic percentage question that I have a mental block on!!!

In 2022, I made $56
In 2023, I made $35

What is the reduction in my earnings as a percentage and how do I work that out?

What method(s) have they given you in class? What are your thoughts? What have you tried? ("Read Before Posting")

Please be complete, including such things as whether or not you are expected to take inflation into account or if, to the contrary, you are supposed to hold dollar values as constant. Thank you!

Dollar values as constant, sorry to be clear.

My calculation was (35-56)/56 = 37.5% reduction but wanted to check!

If you're just asking for the percentage decrease from 56 to 35, just find the amount of decrease, and express that as a percentage of the starting amount (56).
