Converting a fraction to general form

Hi, first thread here.

I need to convert f(x)=(4x+7)/(x-1) to general form. If someone could point me to the right process to do this I would appreciate it.

Note: Once it's in general form I understand what to do, it's just getting it to that point.

Nevermind, I needed polynomial division. Took me a long time to figure out but I got there.

I'm not sure what you mean by "general form." Personally I'd leave it as it is. However you seem to have answered the question. Would you be willing to show your solution? It might help someone else.
