Hint: 1) Start with calculating lengths between A, B and C. The length of a line, D, between two points (x1,y1) & (x2,y2) is:

D2 = (x2 - x1)2 + (y2 - y1)2

What, exactly, did you do? The y coordinates of the two points are \(\displaystyle y_1= 8\) and \(\displaystyle y_2= -4\). What is \(\displaystyle y_1- y_2= 8- (-4)\)? The x- coordinates of the two functions are \(\displaystyle x_1= -1\) and \(\displaystyle x_2= 0= -7\). What is \(\displaystyle x_1- x_2= -1- (-7)\)?
