[h=1]Solve the absolute value inequality?

|8x-1|-7>-11[/h]
A.(-3\8,∞)
b.(-3/8,5/8)
C.(-
∞,∞)
D. NO SOLUTION

I know the answer is no solution , but I dont know why? Would you explain step by step please!

|8x - 1| - 7 > -11

I know the answer is no solution , but I dont know why?

Are you saying that somebody told you the answer?

That is not the correct answer.

Add 7 to both sides, to isolate the absolute-value expression.

Next, consider the sign of |8x - 1|. This expression is always greater than any negative number, yes?

What do you think now? :cool:
