I think all you can do is to put in some numbers, try solving, and be happy if there is one solution. There are very many valid answers to this; if you are unlucky enough to write an equation that doesn't give you one solution, you can think about why that happened and prevent that on your next try.

At first I was thinking you had to put a single digit in each box, but that isn't true. They can be any integers, positive or negative, so there are really a huge number of valid answers.

If you're not sure of your work, show us an attempt (that is, pick 6 random numbers), and we can show you how to check it.

As long as the coefficients of x on the two sides are different, any numbers will give an equation with a single solution.
