I am ridiculously terrible at math...

I have a new kind of diesel fuel additive that I need to mix into a 20 liter jerry can, and on the package, it says to mix 100ml of additive to every 227 liters of diesel.

I don't even know where to begin...

If someone could help me, I would be forever grateful.

Hello, and welcome to FMH! :)

The instructions say to use the ratio:

[MATH]100\text{ mL additive}:227\text{ L diesel}[/MATH]
If we multiply both sides by [MATH]\frac{20}{227}[/MATH] we get approximately:

[MATH]8.81\text{ mL additive}:20\text{ L diesel}[/MATH]
So, for every 20 L of diesel, you'd want to add just under 9 mL of additive.
