hi everybody,

i'm trying to figure out how to make a simple math.
assuming there are gaming players and their ratings.

lets say maximum rating possbile is 22. and maximum minutes possible is 42

playerX played 34 mins, and his rating was 15
playerY played 4 mins, and his rating was 13.

playerY rating is not accurate because he played only 4 mins.
my questions is how can i make it more accurate with some calculation assuming maximum rating possbile is 22. and maximum minutes possible is 42 ?
hope somebody understand me as i'm having hard time explaining myself..

thanks for any help!!
Jo.

You can't do math until the problem is clearly defined. You haven't said what the rating means, or how time would affect it. For some kinds of ratings, the time it takes would be entirely irrelevant; for others, speed is the main idea; for others, taking longer might be better (endurance). You can't say a rating is "not accurate" without having some idea what "accurate" measurement you are comparing it to.

So, can you explain why you think the ratings need to be adjusted?
