perform the indicated operation and reduce to lowest terms.

7/10r +4/15r

I simplify it to

42/60r = 20/60r=62/60r

This does not look right to me. I can not seem to find out what I'm oing wrong. How can I get r by it's self and get the answer reduced to lowest term????

I think you mean (7/10)r + (4/15)r = (42/60)r + (16/60)r = (58/60)r = (29/30)r

The way you typed that makes it look more difficult than it really is;
write those like this: 7r / 10 + 4r / 15.
Then easier to get the correct 29r / 30 (as per FastEdward)
