We need to find the probability that a person chosen at random is a diabetic patient or an eye patient.
So, P(diabetic patient) + P(eye patient)
54/372 + 112/372
= 54 + 112/372
= 166/372
= 83/186
Therefore, the probability a person chosen at random is a diabetic patient or an eye patient is 83/186.

Looks fine. Just be careful with your notation.

54 + 112/372 is NOT the same as (54+112)/372.

It's easy to distinguish on paper. Writing in-line takes a little more care.
