Prove that in a rectangle, the diagonals bisect each other

Off hand I'm not sure where they are going with the vectors, but....

Hint: Note that triangle ABM is isosceles. How do you prove that and how can you use this?

Did you try following the hint? Express AB + BM in terms of a and b, and simplify. Then compare AM to AC.
