question on negatives: is -2/5 less than, greater than -1/5?

Hi Pooh:
Do you know how to find these two numbers on a number line? If you see them both marked on a number line, then it should be clear which is larger.
Or, you could multiply both of these numbers by 5 and compare the results to see which product is larger. Multiplying both numbers by 5 won't change the relationship regarding which one is larger, so it's safe to try that.
I think that being able to picture the number line is the better way, however.
Let us know if you need more help with this exercise. Please show any work that you are able to do and explain why you're stuck.
