requesting help with solving x - 2/9 = 1/6

I am having trouble solving this simple(i am sure) problem .

x-2/9=1/6

I tried putting the x over one then cross multiplying. This didn' t seem right.

Is this what you mean?

  x - 2        1
  ------   = ----
    9          6

Or do you mean something else?
