Simplifying expressions: (3d^-4)(5d^8)

If i have (3d^-4)(5d^8) would i times 3 and 5 which is 15.. then have -4--8 which would be four?

oh okay! So say if i had like..
p^7 * q^5 8 p^6..
i would add 7 and 6, not multiply them??

then it would be p^13 * q^5 ?

You mean p^7 * q^5 * p^6, right? Then you're correct.
