URGENT!
I need some help with simultaneous equations

Question:
Solve these pairs of simultaneous equations.

1) 3m + 4p = 2
3m + 2p = 4

2) 3a - 19 = 5b
6b - 3a = -21

This is for revision for a test. These are the questions I've got. I know that for simultaneous equations I have to add them to eliminate the unknowns (I don't quite know how to explain this), and I have done the other questions, but I am just clueless on how to solve these out. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you

What is the urgency? We do not provide worked solutions on demand.

Adding equations in such a way as to eliminate one of the variables from the resulting sum is known as the Elimination Method. (There are several other methods for solving systems of equations.)

You don't need to explain the process; just show us your work on the first of these posted exercises, and we'll figure out what you're doing incorrectly.

If you're trying to say that you don't know what to do, then please try these steps (on the first exercise)

Multiply both sides of the secnod equation by -1
Add the result to the first equation

What do you get?

Please also read the main points from our posting guidelines. Cheers 8-)

And a very useful service it was! It saved me from having to say the same thing.
