[SPLIT] solving linear equations: 2x-1=-2

I am having trouble solving equations, mostly with starting the problems. Here is the problem:

Which of the following is a solution of the equation 2x-1=-2?

Since they gave you answer options (not provided in your post), one method would be to plug each option into the equation, and find the one option which works in the equation.

If you're given "x + 3 = 5", do you know how to solve that? If you're given "2x = 4", do you know how to solve that? If so, apply those same methods to "2x - 1 = -2". If not, then, since we cannot teach the necessary classroom lessons within this environment, please consider reviewing some of the lessons available online.
