Urgent, need help before morning...

How does Standard form work? I thought you plugged in the (x,y) coordinates like so:

(2,7) m=2/3

Ax+By=C

-2x+3y=17 [2x-3y=-17] Another point on the line is (5,5)

But it never works out with the other points on the line.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: Urgent, need help before morning...

the given points 5,5 and 2,7 do not lie on a line with slope 2/3, but on a line of slope -2/3.
you are doing nothing wrong, it is just that 5,5 is not on a line passing thru 2,7 with a slope of 2/3.
