Strange Equations

where * = multiplication symbol

I'm having trouble with this equation. It's been a while since I've done this type of math, any help would be appreciated.

I would start by simplifying the right-hand side; Jomo gave that a start, but then you can combine like terms, first within the brackets. It will end up as a very simple equation.
