I need help with this question:

Tyrone is twiced as old as his daughter. In 6 years Tyrone's age will be three times what his daughters age was six years ago. How old are at present?

I can't figure this out and need help with setting it up.

Let d = daughter's age NOW
then 2d = Tyrone's age NOW

In 6 years, Tyrone's age will be 2d + 6

6 years ago, the daughter's age was d - 6

The problem tells us this:

Tyrone's age 6 years from now will be three times his daughter's age 6 years ago

Can you write the equation now?

(2d + 6) = 3(d - 6)

I believe that is how you would set up the equation:
Solve for d and then check.
