I assume that [imath]x=\|\overline{AO}\|[/imath].
Can you see that [imath]\Delta AOB \approx \Delta COD~?[/imath]
It seems to me there is some bit of information missing.

There is not enough info to "fix" the shape, but enough to find x - the relationship derived from the triangle similarity remains if the overall shape changes.
