Why constants are not separated?

My teacher gave me this question. I have solved it differently. But when i checked this on TI92 calculator the answer was as above.
I don't know, why we have not separated the constants cd and ab. As they can be further simplified.
Anyone has any idea?

It looks to me as if it treated "cd" and "ab" as distinct variables rather than as products. Either you entered it incorrectly, or it has a bug. (Does the manual say that variables can have two-letter names?)

Don't assume a calculator knows more than you do.

Yes you are right. I have put a*b rather ab and this time results are different. Sorry I have written constants instead of variables.

when you simplify the equation in calculator screen. It will have the same answer.

Or you could simplify further with [MATH]96a^2c^{n-3}[/MATH]
