Are you saying that you haven't studied statistics, and thus cannot understand what the exercise is asking? Thank you!

If you are trying to earn a master's degree in economics and "can't do math", then you have a serious problem! What in the world compelled you to try for a master's degree in a field that requires so much mathematics?

For this particular problem, do you understand what the "density function" you are given is? What do the "R< e" and "R> e" parts mean?
