Hello --
I am a little rusty on my math and hoping someone can help me out with a problem I am working on. Here is the gist:
How many permutations are there for the following?
-- a + b + c + d + e + f + g +h + i = 144
-- there are 16 possible choices for a through I
-- repetition is allowed (i.e. 16 + 16 + ....)
-- Must know the number of permutations as (16 + 15 is not the same as 15 + 16 for these purposes)
I think this is a stars and bars problem but am not certain.
